Ryan Buell Opens Up To "People Magazine" About His Battle With Pancreatic Cancer
It’s no secret that PRS Director/founder Ryan Buell, 31, has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. In 2012, Buell stunned the world by reluctantly opening up about the news. Until now, he has remained quiet about it.
“For over a year, I’ve received numerous invitations from the press to speak about it,” wrote Buell. These media requests came from both well-known TV and print outlets. But Buell chose to hold off from speaking about it, except from occasional Facebook posts or tweets on his official social media pages, which he controls.
Last month, Buell decided it was time to open up and share parts of his story. He chose People Magazine because “of the way they handled the news about my diagnosis last year,” he said. “They were very sensitive and respectful in a time when I was most vulnerable and scared. Others took advantage of that.”
People Magazine reporter Rennie Dyball broke the first story in to two pieces. The first part was released today as the top news story. The majority of the article is written from Buell’s perspective.
