MUFON

Lots of low-flying objects with multiple witnesses this past week and unusually high east coast UFO traffic.

A second case of a red ball of light chasing a car across an Arizona highway was filed June 24, 2011, according to testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.

The witness was driving between Flagstaff and Leupp, AZ, at 1:21 a.m., June 24, 2011, when a red light was noticed in the sky.

“It was approximately 800 feet in the air and at first I assumed it was a helicopter because of the low flying distance,” the witness stated. “I rolled the window down to see if I could hear any type of noise; no sound was present. The time was 1:21 a.m.; and as I drove onward, the light descended and flew about four feet above the ground.”

The witness watched the light and was able to describe it.

“I was able to clearly see it light the ground up red. It flew parallel to my vehicle and just about kept the same speed as my vehicle (65 mph). The orb itself was red, and emitting a red glow – darker red in the center, brighter red around the edges. It was to the left of the vehicle, approximately 50 yards away. At this point I was feeling panicked, afraid and curious.”

But then the object moved close to the vehicle.

“As the road turns, I broke sight of the light and while I was turning the bend, a bright light caught my attention in the corner of my eye. The orb, now bright white, and approx eight inches in diameter, was now flying alongside my vehicle, no more than 8-12 inches above the road. It was flying on the shoulder of the oncoming lane and kept perfect speed with my vehicle (65 mph). The time was now 1:24 a.m.”

The object made no noise – and then moved quickly away.

“While viewing this object, I had no feelings of emotion and I was calm and collected. No noise, besides engine noise was noted, the only notable difference was the presence of cell phone signal (there usually is none). It followed my vehicle for a quarter mile, and it sped up two car lengths in front of me and abruptly made a 90 degree turn, upward into the sky, at which point, I leaned forward to see it shoot across the sky, like a shooting star toward the east. It was not as bright when I saw it disappear in the sky.”

A similar case occurred on June 10, 2011, also in Arizona, and was covered here as: Fireball ‘chases’ Arizona couple through desert at ground level. An Arizona couple reported a “star-like fireball” that was three-feet across followed their car at about the height of their windows for two minutes during a nighttime drive about halfway between Las Vegas, NV, and Kingman, AZ.

In both cases, the ball of light flew at the same speed as the car at the car’s height, then moved in front of the vehicle before moving away.

But the high strangeness did not stop, in this first case, when the witness saw the object move away. The witness reached home at 1:36 a.m. and discovered a 3-foot-tall rabbit sitting on the driveway.

No images or videos were included with the MUFON report, which was filed on June 24, 2011. The above quotes were edited for clarity. The driving distance between Flafstaff and Leupp is about 44 miles. In the earlier case, the couple had left Las Vegas and their final desination was Kingman, 150 miles west of Flagstaff.

A Missouri witness reports watching a silent, slow-moving V-shaped object that “distorted the stars around it” as it moved overhead, according to June 24, 2011, testimony.

The witness stated that the object was moving north and toward St. Louis.

The witness described the object as “huge.”

“No lights – but the object was huge,” the witness stated. “It moved slowly and you could see the surrounding stars but it was like looking at them under water – or a better description is putting a glass in water and peering at objects in the water through the glass.”

The sighting duration was five minutes and was lost from sight as it moved behind a local hospital.

No images or videos were included with the MUFON report, which was filed on June 24, 2011. The incident occurred on March 13, 2011. The above quotes were edited for clarity. No town name was mentioned in the public portion of the report.

Two Denver, CO, witnesses report watching a silent and slow-moving object move overhead with two lights and a “concave or crescent” shaped front end that was the size of a “football field” and seemed to be transparent.

“As it approached nearly overhead of us, I could make out a faint shape on the ‘front’ between the lights,” the reporting witness stated. “It was concave like a crescent or wave shape that was a hazy bluish-grey color. It really seemed to mimic the wispy clouds. It also moved in perfect alignment with both lights. I could not make out the ‘back’ of the craft. The hazy blue crescent just faded to black. From light to light the craft seemed the size of a football field.”

No images or videos were included with the MUFON report, which was filed on June 24, 2011. The incident occurred on May 30, 2011. The above quotes were edited for clarity.

A Missouri witness is unsure what the bright light was seen crossing the sky that was “encircled by a very large, cream-colored glow.”

Family members were previously sky watching during a birthday party, but the overcast sky did not yield much. Then the object appeared.

“I turned around, anxious to see what I believed was the moon finally making an appearance,” the reporting witness stated. “But to my great surprise, I saw a small, white light – very bright, flying across the sky, and it was encircled by very large cream-colored glow. Note that there were no clouds specifically; the sky just seemed rather gray. I was surprised that the glow was so large, circular, and bright, yet assumed it was somehow an airplane behind a fog or clouds.”

No town name was mentioned in the MUFON report, which was filed on June 27, 2011. The event occurred on June 26, 2011. No images or videos were included with the report. The above quotes were edited for clarity.

Two California witnesses describe a morphing object in the sky possibly a half-mile in altitude above Koreatown, Los Angeles, that came into view first as a light-grey or dark, white “rectangular object the size of a small building” floating over the Silverlake/Eastern Hollywood area, according to June 27, 2011, testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.

The object first seemed to behave like a tethered balloon.

“At first it behaved a lot like a used car-lot sales balloon would, as if it was tethered to the ground, and was being gently rocked back and forth by the wind,” the reporting witness stated. “It hovered stationary, silently, and seemed to be making very small east/west movements, like back and forth by a few feet. Almost as if it was keeping itself up, but for the most part remained stationary over the city; very small movements. At this point I screamed for my girlfriend to come and verify what I was seeing and also get some assurance of my own sanity had not slipped. She too saw exactly what I was seeing.”

Then about three minutes later, the object seemed to move closer to their location.

Witness Illustration

“I was able to make out a clearer shape of what to me looked like someone seated with a jetpack or something square strapped to its back for a moment, but it was tough to make out still due to the fact that I could not see any self illumination on the object. My girlfriend disagrees and is convinced she saw small blue and white lights on the craft. Then it began to split down the middle and change shape.”

After about another four minutes passed, the object seemed to morph in shape.

Two illustrations were included with the MUFON report, which was filed on June 27, 2011. See Image # 1, and Image # 2. The events occurred on June 26, 2011. The above quotes were edited for clarity.

Witnesses in Rhode Island and Kansas are reporting a bright orb that seemed to be losing intensity as it moved out into space, according to June 27, 2011, testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.

The Rhode Island witness was in West Warwick with friends when they noticed a bright, oval light, on June 27, as reported in MUFON Case # 29754.

“The light was oval in shape and the light was so bright you could see an aura around the light,” the reporting witness stated. “It was pure, white light, not even the slightest of a yellow color. It was the whitest light I have ever seen coming from a plane, if that’s what it was.”

The witness described the light’s movement.

“The light moved forward for about 10 seconds and then seemed to ascend upward. As it did the light began to dim slowly until we couldn’t see it anymore. My only explanation I can think of, is that if it was a spotlight, they turned it off, and as the light cooled, it dimmed slowly making it appear the light was leaving the atmosphere, because the object was then ‘shrinking’ from sight.”

The light appeared to be oval.

“This object was oval in shape. It was not blinking whatsoever. It was the brightest, vibrant white I’ve ever seen coming from a flying object. There were no red or blue lights or even white lights blinking. Just a bright, oval shape that seemed to ascend and vanish.”

Also on June 27, 2011, a Kansas couple was returning home when they looked into the sky, as reported in MUFON Case # 29755.

Witness Photo

“When I turned my attention to the Big Dipper in the northwest, I noticed a bright, yellow flowing orb underneath and moving upwards toward the constellation,” the reporting witness stated. “Almost as soon as I spotted it, it picked up momentum and seemed to decrease in luminosity by about a third.”

The reporting witness attached Image # 1 to the MUFON report.

Another witness came forward June 28, 2011, to report a bright light moving across the sky under 1,000 feet that “quickly shot up and ascended” before disappearing.

The latest report comes from Ohio in MUFON Case # 29762.

Earlier reports of a similar bright light at lower altitudes that quickly shot up into the sky were made from Rhode Island and Kansas as told in: Rhode Island, Kansas witnesses describe bright light.

In this latest case, the reporting witness stated: “My husband and I were standing on our back patio at 11:30 p.m. EST when I noticed to the west a single light, slowly heading towards us approximately two miles away. After watching it approach our direction for a couple of minutes; I asked my husband if he noticed any flashing lights coming from it and he confirmed he saw no flashing lights either. There also was no sound coming from the object. We both watched it for another couple of minutes until it was just north of our location. It appeared to be about 500 -1000 feet above the ground. The light then quickly shot up and ascended in the sky until it disappeared.”

No images or video were included with the MUFON report, which was filed on June 28, 2011. The incident occurred on June 26, 2011. No town name was mentioned in the public portion of the report. The above quotes were edited for clarity.

A Fredericksburg, VA, couple reports watching a silent, black triangle with three bright lights that hovered low over Route 1.

The husband and his wife were driving in separate cars when they first thought that the triangle formation was a commercial aircraft about to crash or land.

As the object banked, the reporting witness could tell that the lights were a solid object.

“It hovered slowly over Route 1 and almost went right over the top of my car,” the witness stated. “When it turned it banked a bit and I could see a fourth bright, red light underneath the craft. I could tell it was a solid object because I couldn’t see stars between the lights.”

The witness described the lights.

“The three white lights were non-blinking and were extremely bright. It was odd because the light did not illuminate the craft. It was as if the material was designed to absorb light.”

The object was low to the ground, moving slow, and made no noise.

No images or videos were included with the report, which was filed on June 28, 2011. The event occurred on June 23, 2011. The above quotes were edited for clarity.

Illinois witnesses watching a “bright, blue-ish white light” report that the object moved toward their dark, country location and revealed a “huge triangle” as it moved 600 feet overhead on June 28, 2011.

“At first sight I started focusing in the camera and couldn’t get a lock on it,” the reporting witness stated. “I then realized it is headed right at us. It wasn’t stationary anymore. Southeast flight pattern. It got straight above us 600 feet overhead. It just turned out its bright, white light. No other lights were visible. There was no sound at all and it looked like the shape of this thing was blocking out the sky behind it.. It looked like a huge triangle.”

The witnesses had been out star gazing and “UFO hunting” at the time.

“We got really nervous since it stopped right over us. We jumped back in the car and got to civilization rather quickly. It’s one of those things where you think I should be careful what i wish for.”

No images or video were included with the MUFON report, which was filed on June 28, 2011. The above quotes were edited for clarity.

Cigar Shaped UFO

Witnesses in Indiana and Illinois are reporting a cylinder-shaped UFO in the daytime skies in separate cases.

Two witnesses standing in a Kokomo, IN, parking lot reported watching “a large, dull silver/gray cylinder flying at high altitude from east to west high in the sky” on a nearly cloudless day in MUFON Case # 29773.

“No wings, no tail, no contrail,” the reporting witness stated. “A large cylinder, at least twice the size of a large jetliner, with rounded ends versus pointy nose and tail. Estimated altitude 30,000 feet. There was no sound, but from that altitude and distance, not surprising. We watched as the cylinder crossed the sky over Kokomo slightly to our north from east to west – a total of maybe two minutes – last seen heading over Burlington due west of Kokomo.”

In Illinois, two witnesses heading north on I-57 at the “Chebanse 302 exit ramp” parked their car to get a better look at the object in MUFON Case # 29775, described as a “cylinder moving straight up at high altitude with a white fan smoke tail.”

Two Kentucky witnesses report watching “four orange orbs flying in formation” under 500 feet and silent as they formed a triangle in the sky, according to June 29, 2011, testimony.

“The formation turned slightly to the right as they went over the neighbor’s home and we watched from the patio as they moved by,” the reporting witness stated. “There was absolutely no sound and they did not vary from the formation as they slowly moved across the back yard area and over the homes that surround my back yard and slowly we lost sight of them as they moved on.”

No images or videos were included with the MUFON report, which was filed on June 29, 2011. The event occurred on June 28, 2011. No town name was mentioned in the public portion of the report. The above quotes were edited for clarity.

Two Pennsylvania witnesses in separate reports describe a bright round, white light moving slowly across the sky.

A Pennsylvania couple reports an object moving from the northwest to the southeast that was visible in the sky for about five minutes in MUFON Case # 29790.

“There were no blinking marker lights that you would see on airplanes since we live close to the airport and see air traffic over our house very often,” the reporting witness stated. “It appeared to be flying higher than the normal air traffic that was taking off from the airport but lower than another airplane that was higher up in the sky with red blinking marker lights flying in the northwest direction. The sky was very clear tonight with no clouds.”

In a second case report, another Pennsylvania witness reports watching a “huge bright star low and slow moving” at 10:15 p.m. in MUFON Case # 29797.

“It was very big and bright, very low,” the witness stated. “I watched it going southeast, and in about another minute, it dimmed, then disappeared into nowhere.”

Both reports were filed on June 30, 2011. Both events occurred about the same time of day on June 29, 2011. No town names were mentioned in the public portion of either report. No images or videos were included with either report. The above quotes were edited for clarity.

Witnesses in Virginia and Maryland are reporting a large, slow moving ball of light in the sky in three separate case reports, according to June 30, 2011, testimony.

A Virginia witness looked out a window after 10:20 p.m. in MUFON Case # 29799.

“It was a very clear night and I noticed that up in the sky, there was a large bright (brighter than the stars) ball of light,” the witness stated. “It definitely was not a star. It was much larger than all the stars. It was not as high up in the sky as the stars. There wasn’t a color. It was almost like a light bulb compared to the stars. The light did not flicker, blink, or anything like that. It was just a ball of bright light. It moved very smoothly and very slowly across the sky in a straight line.”

Two Maryland witnesses were facing southeast toward Haystack Mountain in MUFON Case # 29793.

Witness Illustration

“I remembered looking up and noting how clear the sky was as the sun was setting, and glanced straight up above our heads and saw a light like a star, only much, much brighter, like 10 or 20 stars worth of bright,” the reporting witness stated. “I thought it was a plane with a reflection, but the sun had set long ago. It was moving, but kinda gliding along. It didn’t seem propelled.”

The witness said the object appeared to move through the same observed space twice.

The witness offers two illustrations. See Image # 1 and Image # 2.

Another Maryland witness standing in a field at 10:10 p.m. reports a bright light moving overhead in MUFON Case # 29800.

“The light reminded me of a halogen spotlight intensity. It was at least 5 times the size of Venus at full magnitude. It was a constant light with no blinking lights that are seen on conventional aircraft. It flew overhead toward the southeast horizon. The light stayed on a straight course but did seem to slow down as it reached the sky above me. No sound was emitted from the object. It appeared to be flying halfway between the ground and the cruising altitude of jets. As it reached the Southeast sky the light quickly faded out and abruptly disappeared.”

All three MUFON reports were filed on June 30, 2011. All three incidents occurred on June 29, 2011. No images or videos were submitted with any of the reports. The above quotes were edited for clarity.

A third report of a cylinder-shaped UFO moving overhead on the same day was filed from LaPorte, IN, June 30, 2011, according to testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.

Previous reports were made from both Indiana and Illinois that appear to describe the same object.

The witness was standing in a parking lot on Pine Lake Road when the object moved overhead.

“I noticed a silver ‘plane’ flying to the west, but when I looked at it, there was no tail, and no wings, although there did seem to be dark, vertically rectangular areas in the middle near where wings would be,” the witness stated. “It was flying low, at a descent altitude for planes, but flying horizontally, also much slower than a plane would appear to be moving at that altitude.”

We previously reported that witnesses in both Indiana and Illinois reported watching a cylinder-shaped object on the same day in: Cyliner UFOs reported over Indiana, Illinois.

This latest witness watched with her husband as the object flew by, attempting to understand what she was looking at.

This report was filed with MUFON on June 30, 2011. The incident, as with the earlier reports, occurred on June 28, 2011. The above quotes were edited for clarity. No images or videos were included with the report.

A Tennessee witness reports watching a “huge ball of light” moving silently just a few hundred feet above Route 386 that made a sharp turn and moved out of sight, according to June 30, 2011, testimony.

The witness alerted another person who was driving just ahead along the same route.

“There was no sound from it, yet it was clearly over a few hundred feet up,” the witness stated. “It made a sharp turn up and out after it went out of sight past us. The light was bigger than any engine could of created.”

Route 386 is a four-lane freeway in both Davidson and Sumner counties, TN, also known as Vietnam Veterans Boulevard.

No images or videos were included with the MUFON report, which was filed on June 30, 2011. The event occurred on June 29, 2011. No town name was mentioned in the public portion of the report. The above quotes were edited for clarity.

And finally today, a Texas witness at Zapata reports watching a bright, silent, round object moving across the sky “no higher than two to three stories overhead,” according to June 30, 2011, testimony.

The witness was a backseat passenger in a vehicle traveling from Laredo to South Padre, when an uncle, who was driving, alerted the passengers to the object as they neared Zapata.

“To my amazement there was a round object moving westbound no higher than two to three stories over our head next to the road,” the reporting witness stated. “I could not hear a sound. I couldn’t see it take off – it just disappeared out of my sight. My cousin, who saw it first approaching our vehicle, described it as a silver triangle.”

The witness watched the object and was unable to explain what it was.

“When I was able to see it more clearly, it was already overhead and it looked like a disk with a lot of lights underneath. I was trying to explain what was going on to my 11-year-old daughter, but I couldn’t identify the object as any of the known aircrafts.”

Zapata is located in Zapata County, population 4,856. No images or videos were included with the MUFON report, which was filed on June 30, 2011. The event occurred on June 24, 2011. The above quotes were edited for clarity.
