Triangle UFO

Illinois witnesses in suburban Chicago report watching “a large, black triangular-shaped object slowly cruising at approximately 1500 feet off the ground” while two cigar-shaped objects moved near the object, according to July 3, 2011, testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.

The witnesses were at an outside barbeque when the object came into view.

“The object was jet black and made no sound whatsoever,” the reporting witness stated. “The object was at least twice the size of a 747 jumbo jet. I was able to gauge the size of the object, because we live within 5-6 miles of O’Hare International Airport and see jumbo jets taking off and at low altitude every day. This object was at least twice the size of one of these massive jetliners.”

Then two cigar-shaped objects moved into the same air space.

“They were silver, cigar-shaped and maybe a quarter of the size of the triangular shaped object. They stayed parallel to the object for about 20 seconds, after which they all three accelerated together as one, and left toward the north at a very fast clip. They were out of sight within a matter of seconds and everything seemed to return back to normal. The neighborhood seemed quiet again and the only sound for the moment was the sound of the music playing in the background.”

Then a few minutes later, military helicopters moved into the same area.

“About 5-7 minutes later, we heard the distinct sound of a helicopter approaching. Since we live in the suburbs of Chicago, we are used to hearing news and traffic choppers flying overhead, especially in the morning. But, this sound was more distinct, and was not being made by a commercial or private helicopter. About 10 seconds later, we see a group of three military ‘Blackhawk’ helicopters fly over. They made a large, slow circle around the neighborhood and then they headed off to the north in the exact same direction that the previous objects had flown off.”

No town name was mentioned in the public portion of the MUFON report, which was filed on July 3, 2011. The event occurred on July 2, 2011. No images or videos were included with the report. The above quotes were edited for clarity.

An Avon, IN, witness reports a low flying rectangular-shaped UFO moved over his neighborhood that was seen by several others.

The witness was driving through the neighborhood to pick up a teenage son at a friend’s home when the object came into view from behind a tree line.

“After taking it all in for a few seconds (face to face with the object), I then immediately drove into the driveway and was relieved that the home’s garage door was open,” the witness stated. “I jumped out of my car and two high school young men ran out of the garage to meet me (neither were my son). I asked if they wanted to see a UFO and pointed to the moving object that was now slowly passing in front of the house. The two young men were very excited, but as they watched, reality set in and they both became very quiet, awe-struck.”

The witness seemed to know the direction that the object would head.

“Without thinking I told the boys, ‘It will not hurt you, watch and it will turn onto Red Oak Dr. and you will see the round lights in the back that look very much like a car’s headlights’. Sure enough the small craft slowly passed us and made a right hand turn onto Red Oak Dr. It seemed to be using the street as a guide. I asked the boys if they wanted to follow it and they said ‘no’. I quickly called my sister who lives with me and told her to go outside to our front yard. The craft was headed west towards my home. She waited outside and did not see it. I live in a semi-wooded area so the trees may have blocked any direction change the craft may have made.”

Avon
is a town in Wasington Township, Hendricks County, population 12,446. No images or videos were included with the MUFON report, which was filed on July 3, 2011. The incident occurred on June 30, 2011. One of the teenage witnesses is planning to submit a sketch of the object. The above quotes were edited for clarity.

Also in Indiana, on July 2, 2011, three members of one family watched hovering lights in a triangle formation in MUFON Case # 29881.

“My Daughter was taking out the trash and ran in the house yelling for me to come outside to see something. I ran out to see three bright orange/yellow lights hovering in the sky. I yelled for my Husband to come out and see too. As he came outside they were dropping toward the ground behind the trees very slowly! We watched them until we couldnt see them anymore. We stayed outside for about 10 minutes to see if it was going to come back up but never did…that we saw.”

A rural Illinois witness is frustrated his camera phone did not do justice to the huge, silent, orange ball of light seen moving across the sky that quickly moved straight up into the air at high speed.

The witness was talking to his parents on the telephone when the object was first seen.

“I was on the phone parking the car when all of the sudden directly in front of me, traveling horizontally from south to north along the tree line. I saw a bright orange ball about the size of a tangerine held at arm’s length. My first thought was, ‘Oh, look at the gorgeous firework’. Then I realized that it was moving far too slow and steady to be a firework and way too level to be a Chinese lantern. I exited the vehicle quickly realizing that this was not something I had seen before, and was both alarmed an in awe. I am surrounded by farmland and it’s a clear night on the Fourth of July. I am used to seeing all kinds of stuff this time of year, but this was different. This could only be described as nothing other than a bright orange fireball. It made no noise whatsoever.”

The witness attempted in vain to capture a good image of the object, and then followed the object on foot to a nearby field.

One image was included with the MUFON report, which was filed on July 3, 2011. The incident occurred on July 2, 2011. See Image # 1. No town name was mentioned in the public portion of the report. The above quotes were edited for clarity.

A similar report was made from Stanwood, Iowa, in this July 2, 2011, event, where an object moved into view, hovered in place, and then shot quickly away in MUFON Case # 29888.

“I was visiting a friend in Stanwood, Iowa. We were outside at around 10 p.m on a clear night playing with the kids when I noticed a white light moving across the sky from the southwest,” the witness stated.  ”I asked my friend if he could identify the object as it didn’t look like a plane or any other object I had ever seen. Then the object stopped and remained stationary for about five minutes as we both watched in awe. I noticed that it was oval shaped and by now was a deep orange color in the center and darker red toward the outside. It appeared that the object was surrounded by a red halo as it emitted rays of red light. Then in a blink of an eye it accelerated into the southern sky as it got smaller and then vanished into the distance.”

A New Jersey witness describes a UFO sighting as “surreal” after watching a cone or bell-shaped object with a dark body and bright, red lights emanating from all sides that moved under 100 mph and was flying under 1,500 feet.

The object’s red lights first caught the attention of the witness who was inside watching television – but curiosity sent the witness outside for a better look. Looking out into the clear night, the witness described the odd object.

“It was moving from the west to east when I first saw it,” the witness stated. “I could see it very clearly. My first thought was, it was a helicopter, because of the ‘deliberate’ kind of way it was moving, and also because of its speed being rather slow – maybe under 100 mph, and its height from the ground. But there was no sound and so many lights and they were not blinking.”

The witness stated that the object was reminiscent of a World War II Marine mine.

“This was because of the shape and dark color of it, and because the red lights were so bright that they reminded me of the things that stick out from all around a Marine mine.”

No images or videos were included with the MUFON report, which was filed on July 3, 2011. The event occurred on June 29, 2011. No town name was mentioned in the public portion of the report. The above quotes were edited for clarity.

A group of witnesses at Silver Lake in Kinderhook, MI, report watching a silent, unknown craft move overhead at 1,000 feet the size of a four-seat Cessna that first looked like a “saucer-shape.”

The witnesses were outside after recently arriving at their destination when they first noticed “a red light appear above the tree line” that was moving toward them.

“The light held a steady brilliant red glow as it approached the lake,” the reporting witness stated.

As the object moved overhead, the group could not identify what it was.

“In my view, as others got a ‘fix’ on it and began looking intently, the red light went out. The craft continued across the lake towards us in darkness. It was initially the traditional ‘saucer’ shape round with a small dome. The size was roughly the size of a four-seated Cessna aircraft common in the area. The coloring was completely ink black. It passed overhead less than 300 yards away and about 1,000 feet above the ground, without sound. The harder I tried to look at it, the less I could see detail. Almost simultaneously, we all verbally declared that this was not a plane. This is where we all in our own ways began saying the ‘oh my god what is that’ and ‘that’s not a plane’ things to each other as it passed overhead.”

The reporting witness was able to look at the object through bicoculars.

The reporting witness provided a graphic of the location where the object appeared. No images or videos were included with the MUFON report, which was filed on July 5, 2011. The incident occurred on July 1, 2011. Kinderhook Township is in Branch County, MI, population 1,614.

A Minnesota witness reports watching and photographing an unusual, silent object in the sky that moved horizontally, “paused for about three minutes,” and then continued moving across the sky.

“I was out on my balcony getting ready to take pictures of an approaching thunderstorm when I saw this in the sky,” the witness stated.

The witness described how the object moved.

“It was moving slowly horizontally, paused for about three minutes or so, and continued. It made no noise and had no noticeable flashing lights like that of an airplane or any suggestion of flapping like a bird.”

The witness also reports watching “multiple orbs of light” in the sky as a thunderstorm approached, but assumed they were “ball lightning.”

The witness provided one image with the report - Image # 1. No town name was mentioned in the public portion of the MUFON report, which was filed on July 18, 2011. The incident occurred on June 14, 2011.

A San Jacinto, CA, couple report watching and photographing a “black sphere” in the sky that appeared to stop and move again as they observed the object between 7 and 9 minutes.

They said there were military jets in the area of the sphere immediately after it disappeared.

When they moved the video to their computer, they observed multiple white-colored spheres as well.

“When I played it back it shocked me and scared me because the white spheres were going in and out of the clouds and some even left a trail when they came out from the clouds,” the reporting witness stated. “They are different sizes and there are more than 30 or 40 spheres and they move so fast. And if you go frame by frame you can see them going in and out and some stop. And you can see that they are white round spheres.”

The witness offered Image # 1 with the MUFON report, which was filed on July 18, 2011. Two video clips were also included: Video # 1, and Video # 2. The incident occurred on July 5, 2011. San Janinto is a city in Riverside County, CA, population 44,199.

Six Missouri witnesses report watching “a strange gold ball of light” that flew northwest to southeast above the Liberty Memorial in Kansas City that appeared to change size and then “disappeared in front of our eyes.”

“The size of it was smaller than the full moon, “the reporting witness stated. “It was a bright gold color and was perfectly round. The light did not pulse or waver, and there were no blinking lights on it like you would expect from a conventional aircraft.”

The group also noticed a helicopter in the area at the same time.

“The helicopter made circles around the object it as it moved along.”

The witness described the movement of the object.

“The object moved at different heights and inconsistent speeds, and we thought it was going to crash due to the angle it was headed down (45 degrees), but it did not. It changed size, probably based on moving further away and closer to us. It turned completely white then just disappeared in front of our eyes. We heard the helicopter noise but nothing else, as if there was no other craft in the area.”

One of the witnesses took photographs of the object. Missouri MUFON is attempting to get access to those photos. No images or videos were included with the MUFON report, which was filed on July 18, 2011. The incident occurred on July 16, 2011. The above quotes were edited for clarity.

A Ranier, MN, witness reports watching and photographing a silent, slow-moving object that hovered for two to three minutes, then “turned in a circle motion” as it moved away.

“We all just were in shock and a bit freaked out, but amazed that it was so close,” the reporting witness stated. “I happened to have my phone and was quick to snap just one picture. It seemed like it was almost right over the top of us. And it moved some but not much. It turned in a circle motion as it went up into never never land.”

A Wisconsin witness reports watching three flashing lights form a triangle and move away toward the Minnesota border.

The witness had left a friend’s house and was driving home at 10:30 p.m. CST when the flashing lights were noticed in the sky.

“Upon turning onto my street, I slowed down and looked out my window to the east,” the witness stated. “I saw that there were now three lights in total. They were not blinking in unison. As I watched the lights, they began to move together into the shape of a triangle. They kept moving at each other until it appears as though they met and spun around as one unit then dashed away from the point of rotation.”

The witness called the friend – who reported that the lights were also in view.

No images or videos were included with the MUFON report, which was filed on July 20, 2011. The event occurred on July 19, 2011. The above quotes were edited for clarity. No town name was mentioned in the public portion of the report.

A second Missouri witness has come forward with information from a UFO sighting near the Liberty Memorial in downtown Kansas City.

The story was originally covered as:  Multiple Missouri witnesses watch ‘strange gold ball of light’

Both witnesses describe watching two lights – one a helicopter – that appeared to be following the second light, which they could not identify.

“As the two approached we could see that they were different,” the reporting witness stated. “One was no doubt a helicopter. It was easily identifiable. It was also now apparent that the helicopter was chasing or engaging the other object in what looked to be an inquisitive posture. It really looked like the helicopter was trying to figure out what the heck this thing was.”

The witness described the second light.

“My description of this ‘craft’ would be orangish/yellowish/goldish… also like a small sun….. or for lack of a better word, orb. If I had to narrow it down to one color it would be orangish. It was obviously spherical in shape. The colors were not from multiple lights, but more like entire craft was glowing. It had no blinking lights like normal aircraft. The only sound that could be heard was from the helicopter.(single helicopter blade sounds).”

The witness described the object’s actions.

“As they reach the air space just above our heads the helicopter appeared to swing around to get a better look. The object changed directions slightly to the northwest and the helicopter seemed to back off quickly, then continued to trail the object. At approximately a mile from our location it appeared the helicopter backed off more and a plane (with blinking lights) appeared to flyby. At this point the object seemed to speed up and leave the area at a much quicker speed.”

No images or videos were included with the MUFON report, which was filed on July 19, 2011. The incident occurred on July 16, 2011. The above quotes were edited for clarity.

And finally today, a California witness reports watching a black helicopter chase a “red-orange orb” across the sky with a “huge black plane” following.

“I was walking past the window at 2101 (I had just looked at the clock), and saw a black helicopter chasing what appeared to be a red-orange orb,” the witness stated. “The orb was moving fast and erratically. It appeared to me moving in a somewhat straight direct path with some maneuvers mixed in such as moving quickly up, down, and around. (Like if a bouncy ball was trapped in a box) There was still enough day light to make out all the objects, and the mountain ranges. It looked to me as if it was playing ‘cat & mouse’ with the chopper. As the chopper moved erratically (trying to chase it), they moved out of sight and that’s when I noticed a HUGE black plane pacing the chopper.”

No images or videos were included with the MUFON report, which was filed on July 19, 2011. The event occurred on July 18, 2011, at 9:01 p.m. The above quotes were edited for clarity.
