July of 1973 was an incredible month for UFO reports in the United States – with increased sightings around the country while Pennsylvania in particular was in the middle of a concentrated wave.

Silent Invasion The Pennsylvania UFO-Bigfoot Casebook by Stan Gordon. Edited by Roger Marsh

The Pennsylvania “wave” of reports would not be fully understood until more than a year later when the hundreds of reports were finally cataloged by Ufologist Stan Gordon – and is clearly an astounding amount of witness testimony as recorded in Gordon’s recent book release - Silent Invasion: The Pennsylvania UFO-Bigfoot Casebook.

While Pennsylvanians wondered why the big concentration in their neck of the woods, low-flying crafts were being spotted in many other parts of the country then too. Many of those accounts were never officially recorded. And today we have one of those unrecorded witnesses – this story from rural Oklahoma – where two friends were walking home between Oklahoma City and Moore when they first noticed a “tall, dark object” about 500 feet away that was hovering about 100 feet off of the ground.

A North Phoenix, AZ, witness reports watching “three dimly lit orange lights” that appeared to be part of one object about 11:25 p.m. on June 16, 2011.

The witness used a pair of 8x binoculars to get a better look and discovered that the “object” appeared to be an “elongated oval.”

“I re-focused and while shifting the focus, the lights looked as if there was a haze or solid craft around the lights,” the witness stated. “There was darker area surrounding the three round lights. With all three lights in a horizontal position they looked to be on an elongated oval.”

As the object moved away, it seemed to shift to a vertical position.

An Arizona witness reports pulling to the side of the road to watch two green lights “waving around the sky very briefly.”

The witness stated that the objects seemed to be “searching for something or emitting some sort of ‘laser therapy’ to the atmosphere.”

Then one of the “crafts” disappeared from view.

“I’m not sure if the other craft had its own green light or if it was only the reflection from the first craft, but as soon as I had depicted two crafts, one had quickly disappeared,” the witness stated. “Then the craft in my primary focus seemed to change its lighting from the green spot lights to a variation of light pattern blinks of green and red as soon as it had distinctively changed its path, which really shocked me seeing as how it was definitely not an airplane.”

The witness stated that the objects were making “impossible maneuvers.”

No town name was mentioned in the public portion of the MUFON report, which was filed on June 18, 2011. The event occurred on June 15, 2011. No images or videos were included with the report. The above quotes were edited for clarity.

A woman recalls a December 1, 2001, event where she and her husband witnessed “a massive rectangular object about the size of two football fields end-to-end travel over us and glide silently at about 150 feet off the ground,” according to June 18, 2011, testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.

The woman and her husband were driving from Los Angeles to Florida in separate vehicles when they noticed the object – which banked left and moved over nearby hills.

“We observed a red glowing spear on one side that was from one end of the object to the other and could see the glow from the other side that also appeared to be red,” the witness stated. “There was no sound emitted from the object and we observed several massive spotlights on the front of the object. It was traveling so low that if we had a rock we could have hit it.”

There were several other vehicles along the roadway and the witness is hoping someone else will come forward “as it lasted for an extended period of time.”

A Minnesota witness abruptly stopped his car and ran for a better view to observe two bright, orange lights in the sky, according to June 18, 2011, testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.

“Way up in the sky there were two bright, orange things almost swirling, but just kind of floating and carving around,” the witness stated. “I was driving about 30 mph and headed toward a stop sign. I slowed my car down and actually came to a stop, a foot into the opposite lane.”

The witness then began running for a better view.

“The ‘fireballs’ were now much further away and looked very distant. My view was blocked by trees so I had to keep running. I got to the opening and they were gone. I stood there for a about 15 seconds and then from behind me I saw two more ‘fireballs’ float right over my head. They gained speed and flew up and kind of danced and then proceeded to just fade and disappear.”

A Pennsylvania witness at Shimerville reports watching “an odd red light low in the sky” about 9 p.m. on June 17, 2011.

The witness was driving from East Greenville to Emmaus on northbound Route 29 when the light was first noticed.

“I noticed an odd red light low in the sky to my left, through the windshield, as I approached Shimerville,” the witness stated. “I believe this would have made it northwest of Shimerville, definitely west of Route 29. I assumed it was an airplane, but I thought it was odd that I only saw a red light, no other color, and it wasn’t blinking, it was shimmering. It almost looked like a stoplight hanging way up in the sky. It wasn’t a clear well-defined light due to the clouds, which may have accounted for the shimmering. It looked stationary, but since I was moving it was hard to conclude whether the object was also moving or not.”

Shimerville is an unincorporated community in Upper Milford Township in Lehigh County, serviced by routes 100 and 29. No images or videos were included with the MUFON report, which was filed on June 17, 2011.

A Texas witness reports watching a V-shaped craft hovering over cell towers near the intersection of Mason Road and SH 99 in Pecan Grove.

The witness originally thought the object might have been an airplane flying south, but then noticed “more lights than a conventional aircraft that remained on, no strobing or anything.”

Then the witness noticed the shape of the object.

“I then could make out the shape and noticed it was a V-shaped craft almost identical to one I had seen before during hurricane ike,” the witness stated. “I watched as it traveled slowly towards and eventually stop entirely to hover over cellular towers that lay directly east of my location (or right in front of me as I traveled down that particular part of SH 99.)”

One Missouri parent has a lot of explaining to do to the kids and some nieces who had gathered at a window to watch an incoming thunderstorm in the early morning hours of June 19, 2011.

With the late-night storm as a back drop, the parent reports they spotted a “huge disc-shaped object with bright spinning lights” hovering just down the street above neighbor’s homes.

As they watched, the object “shot out like three or four bright beams of light.”

“Then the blue lights went out then reappeared (with the) bright blue spinning lights again,” the reporting witness stated. “Then all of a sudden it zipped up, and shot out another bright beam of light when it disappeared.”

Although the group panicked over what they saw, they gathered again at the window for another look. The witness said the object appeared again “briefly above the complex in front of us, then disappeared again.”

Two Illinois brothers share a UFO experience after they wasted no time moving toward two strange objects.

The reporting witness was driving along Route 29 in Chillicothe when the radio station he was listening to “abruptly turned to static” while “two very large, orange lights” appeared in his field of vision hovering above a cemetery at Cloverdale Road.”

The witness immediately pulled into the cemetery, and also noticed other witnesses pulling off the road nearby. He picked up his cell phone and alerted his brother to come to the cemetery.

“I watched them for next few minutes as they just stayed above the cemetery, not moving,” the witness stated. “The one on the right moved closer to the one on the left, which was much closer to me, and that’s when I saw the top of the larger one from the light being reflected off of it.”

Two Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) investigators report observing two triangle-shaped objects in the sky and experiencing missing time as they traveled south along Highway 67 in Missouri’s Saint Francious County enroute to the Piedmont UFO Festival, according to June 20, 2011, testimony from the Mutual UFO Network witness reporting database.

The reporting witness is Assistant State Director for Missouri and the second witness is a STAR Team Investigator for Kansas MUFON.

While driving along Missouri’s Highway 67, they noticed a bright object to their east.

“As I was driving south on 67 Highway past Farmington at the very south edge of Francious County, I noticed a bright object in the sky to the east,” the reporting witness stated. “The object appeared to be three very bright lights in a triangular pattern. It was approximately the size of a large pea held at arm’s length. The object was much brighter than any planet (5 x brighter than Venus) and was bluish/white in color. It was at approximately 50 degrees off the horizon and ENE of our position. It appeared to get larger and clearer as I watched it. I also had an uneasy feeling, which started before I saw the object.”

The reporting witness then asked the second witness to have a look – but the first object disappeared while a second object appeared.

“He said the object moved to the North, and when I looked it was gone. He watched several shooting objects without tails moving from west to northeast, but behaving like shooting stars. Then three long, white lights appeared, moving very fast from a NE to SW direction. The first triangular object appeared and disappeared three times. These objects moved around the sky for approximately 15 minutes. The skies clouded over and we lost sight of the objects. We were both very uneasy about the entire sighting, and thought it was coincidental that this occurred while we were on our way to the Piedmont UFO Festival where I was speaking.”

Upon arriving at the event, they realized that there was more than one hour of missing time.

Two triangle UFOs were spotted by MUFON investigators while driving along Highway 67

“The duration of the trip should have been six hours according to my GPS. With stops taken into consideration, we should have arrived at 9:30 p.m., but we arrived at our destination at 10:37 p.m., so we had over an hour of missing time. We cannot account for the missing time.”

But the strange events did not stop upon arriving at the UFO event – odd things happened to a computer that the reporting witness had brought with her to the festival.

Saint Francious County is located in Missouri’s Lead Belt, population 65,359. No images or videos were included with the MUFON report, which was filed on June 20, 2011. The events occurred on June 16, 2011.

An Independence, MO, witness is looking for an explanation after watching “a bright, white object that looked like a fat missile” moving overhead under 1,000 feet.

The witness had just gotten into a car after getting off of work and compared the object to a missile “like from World War II aiming down at a 45 degree angle.”

The witness described the object.

“It had a skinny tail on top of it at a 120 degree angle,” the witness stated. “It moved across the sky kind of like a plane would, but it was moving in a very straight, smooth path and flying very low. I was surprised to see a plane that low in this area. I’d guess that it was at about 500 – 1,000 feet, but don’t know for sure.”

The object then moved behind trees and the witness was unable to see it again.

No images or videos were included with the MUFON report, which was filed on June 22, 2011. The event occurred on June 21, 2011. The above quotes were edited for clarity. Independence is the fourth largest city in Missouri, lying within Jackson and Clay counties, population 116,830.

A New Jersey witness at East Windsor reports watching a “gigantic” object with four lights at the height of a “low flying plane” while traveling along Windsor-Perrinville Road near the Cedarville Road intersection about 12:15 a.m. on June 22, 2011.

“Well the trees stop and then I see it, and it was gigantic,” the witness stated. “It was at the height of when you see a low flying plane. It was four lights across in a row maybe about the size of half a football field. The two in the middle were very bright almost like its headlights, but the light was very diffused. The craft was coming from the SE going NW and moving incredibly slow. As far as shape, I really couldn’t tell because the lights were like so bright. It was like when headlights are close to you all you see is the object and can’t make out the object behind them.”

The witness was surprised at the object’s size.

“Never have I seen an airplane creep along in the sky or also be that damn huge,” the witness stated. “It seems like a cruise liner in the sky.”

A Florida witness one mile east of Sea World Orland in the Williamsburge subdivision reports watching between 9 to 11 silent lights moving fast in a V-shape formation.

“The lights were not connected and seemed to fly independently due to their movement,” the witness stated. “They also did not flash and had the consistency of a medium bright star. The flight pattern was similar to the way a flock of geese flies but much faster and absolutely no sound.”

The witness described the path of the objects.

“The path would of taken them between downtown Orlando and the Orlando International Airport. I am located one mile due east of Sea World Orlando in the Williamsburge Subdivision and was facing due south when I began to see the lights at about 30 degrees on the horizon moving from my right to left. I followed them for approximately 12 to 15 seconds until they disappeared behind a tree in my neighbor’s yard.”

A Centerville, GA, witness reports watching and photographing four “stars” in the sky that did not move or blink, but then disappeared completely from view about six minutes later.

The witness believes the objects were lower than the cloud coverage.

“Trouble is, you couldn’t see the sky yet, just the clouds, but the ‘stars’ were in or in front of the clouds,” the witness stated.

The objects appeared to be stars.

“The lights did not move nor blink; they were white stationary points of light, exactly what a star in the night sky looks like. My camera info shows I snapped the picture about 8:18 p.m. but my clock in the car read 7:45 p.m. or so.”

The Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) at Missouri is reporting a UFO sightings increase that has been ongoing these past six weeks, according to a June 23, 2011, telephone interview with Assistant State Director Margie Kay.

“The last six weeks in Kansas City have been absolutely crazy with sightings,” Kay said today. “It all started May 7. I was in St. Louis to do a talk, and I was asked by Missouri State Director Debbie Ziegelmeyer to do an interview with a guy named Ray.”

Kay discovered that the man claims to have been meeting with extraterrestrials all of his life.

“He has been visited by ETs his entire life,” she said. “He’s 63 now, and has been visited since age 12. And it’s a conscious memory. They give him a telepathic message to meet him somewhere – he goes there and talks to them. I think he’s very credible.”

But the idea that someone is conversing frequently with ETs was just the tip of the iceberg.

“After the interview, I drove back to Kansas City. It was almost dark and I just had the feeling that something was near me and that I should take a picture of the sky. I was driving along I-70 – and I used my cell phone to take a picture of the sky. Then I pulled over and looked up and didn’t see anything. But I took another photo. I now have two UFO pictures of an object that I didn’t see at the time.

And back home, more strange things were going on.

A Tennessee witness reports watching a silent, low flying triangle-shaped object “with three distinct lights on three corners of the vehicle” while driving just after midnight on June 23, 2011.

The witness first noticed two bright lights in the distance to the north, but thought that they might be helicopters or stars. But then the lights moved closer.

“As it gradually came nearer I noticed it was a cluster of lights,” the witness stated. “The object appeared to have three distinct lights on three corners of the vehicle. It appeared to have red lights and faint pulsating dim lights on the underbelly. I wanted to believe it was an airplane, but it moved like no other vehicle I have seen before.”

The object seemed to be too low for an airplane.

Robert Hastings continues to follow how UFOs may be affecting our nuclear weapons systems even today

And finally today, some breaking news out of Wyoming.

The F.E. Warren Air Force Base in Cheyenne, WY, “temporarily lost the ability to communicate with 50 of its Minuteman III missiles” while a UFO was sighted during the incident, according to statements released June 23, 2011, by Robert Hastings.

Hastings stated that “the five Missile Alert Facilities responsible for launching those ICBMs—Alpha through Echo, comprising the 319th Missile Squadron—would have been unable to do so during the period of the disruption,” according to his press release.

The October 23, 2010, story continued to unfold.

“This dramatic story was leaked to Mark Ambinder, a contributing editor at The Atlantic, which published it three days later. The U.S. Air Force then quickly acknowledged the problem, saying that a back-up launch system could have performed the task and claiming that the breakdown had lasted a mere 59 minutes.

“However, the latter statement was untrue, according to two missile technicians stationed at F.E. Warren, who say that the communications issue, while intermittent, actually persisted over several hours.

“Significantly, these same individuals report sightings by ‘numerous teams’ of an enormous, cigar-shaped craft that maneuvered high above the missile field on the day of the disruption. The huge UFO appeared similar to a World War I German Zeppelin but had no passenger gondola or advertising on its hull, as would a commercial blimp.

“The confidential Air Force sources also report that their squadron commander has warned witnesses not to talk to journalists or researchers about ‘the things they may or may not have seen’ in the sky and has threatened severe penalties for anyone violating security. Consequently, these persons must remain anonymous at this time.”
